These components are stack mounted which are then interfaced with the control unit. The transceiver produces an electronically modulated and collimated light beam which is projected across the given area to a retroreflector that returns the beam back to the transceiver where the light beam intensity is measured by a measurement detector (MD). This detector will only measure the modulated light and is not affected by the presence of stray or artificial light.

The only two options available from current technologies for density measurement are Opacity and Optical Density – the Concept OPL 100S offers both.
